Ever heared of Runlock ropes? These innovative ropes are great! They are strong, flexible, durable and they have loops in them, making it easy to strapping gear, towing, hauling and much more.
I use these with pulleys, blocking pulleys, carabiners and other climbing hardware. These ropes don’t tangle or get stuck.
I’ll tell you what I currently use:
|Black #4||4 mm||170 kg|
|Yellow #8||6 mm||230 kg|
|Orange #16||10 mm||580 kg|
|Orange #20||12 mm||700 kg|
Now, these aren’t climbing or rescue ropes, but they excell at being practical for any other use. From the smallest diameter for use as a washing line (no pegs needed) upto the biggest for crossing water techniques: the loops will do their work for you.
Runlock carries more colours and diameters than I have, like the ultra strong 24 mm that can haul 1800 kg, 5 mm and 8 mm ropes. But really unique are the loops. The allow you to use a whole range of tying techniques the normal ropes don’t do.
The Outdoor Set is a nice set for camping and general outdoor activities.
NiteIze CamJam rope tightener
The CamJam features a carabiner clip and gate on one end, and a rotating cam mechanism on the other. This allows it to be configured in either a Fixed End or a Loop System to securely tie down lumber, gear, and other heavy loads. It holds cord from 2mm-5mm in width, including the Runlock # 4. Simply anchor the carabiner to any hook, D-ring, or loop, and feed the cord or rope through the cam until you’ve reached the desired level of tension. Next, pull the cord firmly and the cam locks into place and stays that way until you release it. I use it to secure loads and as a laundry line tensioner.
